so I am researching into an oil catch can from the pcv on my 95 cobra...does anyone on here have a write up or some good pics of how the went about doing it? I am struggling to visualize how to get it done when I get the chance to actually do it...and I can't seem to find a write up or good pics on our cars anywhere. also anyone recommend a good catch can? I've seen upr, moroso and mishimoto ones.

I have a 4.6 but the concept is the same, just putting the catch can inline of the PCV system, here's a pic of mine.

Most people tend to hide the can but I put mine right up front due to a large bracket hole leftover when I did the COp conversion making the perfect mount location

You need to host your pic on the internet first using a site like photobucket or fotki then link to it

I ended up using an air compressor filter, some hoses, and a few fittings. I believe all together i spent roughly $35. I plan to make to make it look cleaner when i do my GT40P top end.

That hose it attached to the PCV in the rear of the lower intake manifold. Behind there was a vacuum tree. I just capped the one underneath.

As you can see it works; that is about two months of hard driving. LoL

You don't like his air line filter? It is effective and the concept for running hoses is exactly the same

Didn't say I didn't like it...I just don't know if I can piece one together like that. Haha. I mean I can but I also kind of want a cleaner look...no offense to his design by any means. The reason I asked about the hoses is the line going out of his catch can looks to be going behind the brake booster and connecting where? I thought that side hooked back to the intake? I guess I am just a little confused on the return line. I get pcv to catch can....and return to ??

I actually kind of dig the compressor filter. Love the sight glass. This is on the list of things to do for my fox but I either need to come up with a polished one or a place to hide it as I'm in the middle of polishing everything and doing a wire tuck.

I agree with this...not necessarily polished but a little cleaner looking. really the only thing I am confused on is the return line...lol. cuz it seems like on his idk where it's headed...i can see in the pic the pcv line (left facing front of car) going in and then the line (i'm assuming return line; right facing car) is where I get lost as to where it goes to. lol. sorry guys, trying to learn here is really the thing...i have my suspension knowledge etc etc but the under the hood part is slowly but surely coming together for me. this would be much easier if I could look under the hood right now but alas....I am deployed. lol. once I get home I will be taking the crash course because I am diving into the engine bay...and everything on the car head first. lol.

Ok the tree I speak of (no picture pretty it went to the trash) is attached to the PCV than a bit of hard line hose to a "T" vacuum connector. One gose under to a vacuum tube on the upper manifold and and the other end to the side of the manifold. On picture #2 the hose looks to go to the booster but it gose around the bottom and back to the side of the upper manifold. I just capped the vacuum tube under the manifold. Yeah it is a diy. I'm planing ok keeping it but will clean it up when I get around to the top end. The concept is the same just replace the air filter with whatever catch can. One line in and one line out. Pretty straight forward.

I've got the idea now...so where the pcv usually connects to on the intake...you would connect the return...duh I guess. lol. am I right on this?

Ding ding ding, you got it!

As I said before you are pretty much just putting the catch can in line, my can has a little clear level indicator on the side which is nice so you can see whats in there
