ive noticed my car was low on oil twice this month, about half a quart each time. lifted her up today at work and my oil filter housing is leaking. planning on taking care of that tomorrow along with an oil change. how hard is that to do? and tips or recommendations?

The oil cooler isn't exactly a requirement. GT's don't have them and have zero issues. The benefits are slim unless you're doing a track day. And the OTHER benefit is, you don't have to worry about it leaking. Now if you wish to retain it, when you spin the filter off, the "stud" that your filter currently screws onto is what sandwiches the cooler to the block. Take the filter off and tighten that piece up. That is more than likely your problem. It should be a large allen key in the middle of it. I've never done it on a 94-95 cobra however I believe the part is similar if not the same as the mod motor cars. If you don't have an allen key that large and don't want to purchase one, a bolt that fits in the hole and a set of vice grips will get it good-n-tight to stop your leak.

I removed mine and what ryclef said is very accurate except for the allen key part. on that stud there will be a place to put a socket on it to tighten it with

well lucky for me it isnt that leaking. i looked closer and its the oil cooler lines. the hose clamps were a bit loose so i tightened them up and ill see how that works

The lines leading to the oil cooler dont carry oil through them. They carry coolant through those lines coming in and out of the cooler. So if you have an oil leak im sorry to say those hose clamps arent the source of the oil leak

good to know! Like i said the mod motors use an allen key deal...regardless, no harm in keeping or removing it.
