Hey guys i can't figure this one out. Its been leaking for awhile and i dont think its coming from the coolant gasket (which is crappy) but its holding up good enough for me (yes i see the green marks on the RTV) :haha:

Anyone seen oil in this area before? Its been like this for awhile now.. with the combination of coolant leaking from the waterneck+oil from where ever its caked up in the area as you can see. The waterneck is not really leaking bad anymore so i doubt its that. The power steering pump was bone dry before i topped it off so i can't say its coming from either because i dont see how it would get there. Looks like its coming from under the intake??

Clean it all real good. Remove all of the oil and grease. Once it is clean, you can isolate where it is coming from because the area of the leak will get dirty first.

Everyone telling you the intake is the culprit is right. Our cars are notorious for intake seal leaks at the front and back seal.

Speculation is just that, clean it off (which you have to do anyway). See where it gets dirty first. That is where it is leaking.

Unfortuantly on a 5.0L alot of times that will not give you a definitive answer. The distributer and intake sealing area are so close 90% of the time you can't tell where the actual leak starts. Pulling the intake is not a big deal, get a intake gasket kit and reseal it. When you do you have the dist. out anyway so replace the o-ring. Easy and you know it is right.
