Oil pressure gage tweeking out

I have a 97 gt and at times the oil pressure gage tweeks out and on cold starts in the morning the oil pressure gage doesnt even move it just stays down. I got a new oils pressure sensor maybe its a bad new sensor? If anyone knows what tge problem is on why it acts like that. Please let me know.

Did you check the wiring? I think if you touch the wire to ground the gauge should show full pressure. If it does then you know it's the sensor.

the stock gauge doesn't really tell you anything. Start simple and check the connections but otherwise if you are really concerned get an aftermarket gauge on it.
