oil pressure not coming up

after my car sits over night and i crank it in the morning it always thats about a min or 2 to bring the oil pressure up, is that normal or should i be worried? i have replaced the oil pump with a melling high volume about 2 or 3 thousand miles ago

Do you have an aftermarket "known good" gauge on it? I would check that first.

no just the one in the instrument cluster!!! everthing seems normal i just think its a retarded gauge

Put a good gauge on it so you know for sure. ALSO, you might want to pull your dizzy and check the wear on the gear as well as the cam gear itself. That high volume pump will put a STRAIN on your cam and dizzy gears. In all actuality, you probably don't even NEED a high volume pump.

Most likey you just have a bad oil pressure sensor! $13.50 item...very easy to replace & they go bad a lot! I was ready to replace my engine until I put a new sensor in!! LOL...I an saving for an Autometer set of real gauges.

Just go change the sensor before anything else!
