oil presure problem

i have a 96 gt, for about 2 weeks now the oil presure guage reads low , so i replaced the sender oil level is good , and still reads low anyone. but it still runs no problems dont make any engine noise at all. anyone had this problem ? i am gonna change the oil this weekend to see if that helps. if not i guess the pump is next grrrrrrrr

I'd find a after market gauge and try hooking it up to see what it reads with a real gauge.

I had the same problem with the temp gauge in my car. It was right about the time I was putting aftermarket gauges in so I was not really all that suprised to see that they show its working perfectly.

Mine stopped reading all together and ive been driving it that way for 4 months, I just ordered a aftermarket digital gauge with a sending unit for mine to keep a better eye on things. Might want to look into a cheap gauge before you tear into the motor. These mod motors are known to run for a long long time with no oil pressure issues as long as there taken care of.

Yea , I ordered a mechanical gauge it should be here tomorrow I changed the oil today just to see if that helped at all .


Anyone know how much pressure it should have ?

Oh and while changing my oil I found a nice dent in the pan gotta love lowered cars . But the dent I am sure has been there before the problem ...
