Ok so my car has alot of miles on it 180,xxx to be exact i want to do a motor rebuild or swap but dont have the money to now. Anyways my car runs good no problems knock on wood. But the only thing is my lifters are a bit noisy especially when its cold. How can i fix this should i just buy new lifters? How big of a project is it i know its a pretty big one obviously just wondering like actually like time and difficulty. And what other things i should do as far as minor replacement of engine parts goes. Its my daily driver so i cant jsut tear it all apart and rebuild. Well yet that is.

We can do your lifters when the intake is off. What weight oil did you use when you just changed your oil? What oil was it?

I didnt use full syn this time. I ran Motorcraft syn blend 10w30 and a quart of that lucas oil stabilizer not the full syn of that either tho.

try something called Shaeffers Moly-treatment in place of that lucas oil. Runs about 15 bucks a pint. Lucas oil only increases the viscosity of your oil, where as Moly-treatment, will actually get in their and work with the engine components to reduce friction. The stuff works great and we run it in all of our race cars and street cars. Kept my last turbo 4 cylinder AutoX car alive to 210k miles, and got rid of all engine noise(including lifter ticks) Should be able to get it from any Shaeffer Dealer, otherwise if you wanna give it a try, let me know i think i can still get it from them.

 nice

at one point i beleive we were allowed to buy shaeffer products as a dealer, but i think my minimum order is like $300 bucks worth. Nonetheless, the local engine shop carries it :thumb:

You're not supposed to change from full synthetic to regular oil... once you go synthetic, you have to stay with it, until you flush the Engine...
