Tell my how you modified your front bumper.

Hey Dude, front facia is a aftermarket saleen cobra with added front lip by ABC Exclusive (don't use them, they have the worst products and customer service... second to Mr. Body Kit), the lower opening in the facia had buckels in the urethane so an 05 GT lower front bumper honeycomb grille was used to straighten it out, a couple of 3" fog lights (which I feel are out a bit too far), a felxible additive in the primer, paint and clear coat.

Your cowl hood looks tough!

Seems simple, but it was a complete headache.

Definately! you're in frickin' Utah right?

I'm pissed... I just installed some RedLine QuickLift hood struts and they bulge up the hood to fender seam. F'n joke... they said they would work with after market hoods... BULL SH*T !! What a waste of money...

They do work just fine with aftermarket hoods but they usually require slight modification.

yes I am. Where are you?

I had some trouble with my fiberglass hood and the Redline shocks.
They pulled out the material on the hood side because it's not very thick there.
We made a few stainless brackets and rivited them on like this.
you could also add some urathane based caulk under the bracket to spread the load more evenly.

also if the bracket is flipped the other way, they bottom out before closing all the way.

is this what yours did?

your car is gorgeous my friend, I can only hope my v6 will be at that level some day.
Thanks bro, it took way too long and way too much. Looks like your car is pretty sweet. Any pics of that custom interior? Besides a new stereo system, i plan on upholstering the rear seats to match the fronts.

way too much going on for my tastes. bu it's not bad.

Why did you stay single port? You could be making at quite a bit more power with split port...

403 RWHP is plenty, are you kidding? Originally I bought the Vortech S/C as a bolt on, then it turned into a complete build. I am not too worried about another 30 hp. I could get that if California wasn't so strict on emmisions. Car is street legal and strong. I am very happy with it.

I put up a thread on my car last night. Its about as custom as a broke 17 year old can get it now. There is obviously more to come for the future though.
Thanks!

It's very much legal to install the split-port on your car in California. If you're replacing parts on your car with something newer, it's legal. The motor will just be considered whatever year you get for the heads and intakes. And yes, it may be only 30hp, but, if you get a windstar intake manifold, say hello to a whole lot more torque.

For me, I would definitely not be happy with 400hp. If I put as much money as you have into your car I would've done it right the first time and gone split-port.

I feel like he would make quite a bit more power if he went split port...I mean, split port vs single port is supposed to be worth like 50 hp n/a?....

400 rwhp is plenty in reality....I dont make 400 rwhp and I can spin all over the street if im going less than like 50.

for a street car, he will never really need more power

Boyz in da hood are always hard, come talking that trash! Pumping new sh*t from NWA! Remember that song?

Hahahahah! I swear I was listening to that song when i was reading his posts. It's cool. I can just picture a silly young whig*er driving his moms old sixer somewhere talking smack! Hahahaha, that's cool! I should have done it the right way! :book1: Hahahaha!

How about never doing all this to a sixer in the first palce! Hahahahaha! I'm an idiot! :BangHead: Hahahaha! Good thing I have an 05 GT sitting next to it in the garage as well , or at least my wife does... I need lunch...

Exactly my point.

Windstar vs. stock split-port. There's like 15hp gains and about 5tq
Windstar vs. stock single-port. There's quite a bit of gains

F-150 intakes are also another good setup, they increase the torque a lot more vs the windstar, but are very difficult to find under a hood that's not smaller than 3"

Not really especially when it's becoming more and more common. Also, I'm building my car for about 550rwhp 650rwtq. But if it's just a street car, sure that's perfectly fine, I'm just power hungry and it'll be a straight up track car, hopefully the 2nd v6 to hit 9's...

Ever heard of the Godmode Cobra (Termi)? My previous sponsor let me drive it, 700rwhp and all. Puts every car I've driven into perspective. So yes I've driven a car with real power.

And I didn't really mean to come off as a dick, but, just as there is in the v8 world of having certain "classes", such as 2v, 3v, 4v, etc. The single port is looked down upon just as the 2v is to the 4v and is ultimately the first thing every 94-98 owner removes from the car if they actually want decent power out of their motor without having to spend extra money elsewhere just to get more power.
