Hello all! It's time I started my build thread. I've shared some pictures of my car "Alice" around the forum, but there are thousands more! As a mechanic by day and hobbyist photographer after hours, there has been a lot of learning and skill increase over the years, which you'll probably see here.

October 2010:

Found my car on Craigslist, asking price $4,500 with 90,500mi on the clock. Bone stock. Had a drop in K&N filter. Drove 2 hours with some friends from Las Cruces, NM to Socorro, NM to meet the seller. Ended up paying $4,000. Here's the day I drove her home.

July 2023:

Here I am writing this thread! The car has gone through many phases and had lots of changes over the years. Here's how she looks in 2023.

October 2010, the first mods! My taillights were pretty faded, so I painted them black. I actually made a thread about it:

Later in the thread there are photos of my 2022 version, as the clearcoat from my first taillight paint job started to flake off. Around the same time I installed the BBK cold air intake, Flowmaster American Thunder cat-back, and black bumper lettering inserts.

February 2011, when I replaced the water pump, it broke the timing cover seal. So a friend helped me do the timing cover, timing chain, oil pressure sender, and brake job. Also installed Pypes off-road x-pipe. The fitment wasn't great. The driver side of the exhaust was probably 2" lower than the passenger.

April 2011, my first set of suspension upgrades. H&R Super Sport springs, KYB AGX dampers, and Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings. I had no idea how difficult the bushings would be (I was 19 at the time), so I just used the spring isolators at this point. My friend Jereme let me use his dad's garage to do the job. You'll see a pic of his convertible GT, which will be in more photos later. Also behind the GT was my wife's (girlfriend at the time) '98 Accord. You'll be happy to know she has a 2013 Mustang GT now.

June 2012, had my air conditioner charged by a local shop for the first time since I owned it. 65° ambient temperature in the car. That felt good living in the 90° desert.

August 2012, I tried to change my ball joints with an AutoZone rental tool and ended up damaging my driver side control arm. So I moved to Granatelli tubular control arms and coilover sleeves. Daisy, our dog at the time loved to hang out in the garage or just outside of it.
