I would say 2v simply because of cost alone. If you compare them it will literally cost you thousands more to buy a 4v, then buy a 4v turbo kit. My buddy has a turbo 01 GT and made 650whp last year and is shooting for 700whp this year on a single 76mm setup. I know last year he had a Turbonetics not sure what he's getting this year but man that puppy was fast as hell.

Locally we don't have any turbo 4v's that I know of, and I'm not sure if that's coincidental or not but like I said it's going to cost far more for the 4v setup

This is a debate my dads having right now...he's got all the parts to make a built 3v motor except cylinder heads. And he's got some of the parts to make a built 4v. He's got a novi 2k for it. I'd agree with that top post. It's mainly cost. I know for that a 4v motor in the end will run you close to 2x the price if not more.

are you saying a turbo 2v or a turbo 4v or a turbo 2v vs a non turbo 4v?

You can make retarded power with a turbo 2v and its cheaper and easier...no reason to go 4v unless you want like 1000 rwhp really.

Im pretty sure theres a 2v guy making 700+ rwhp with the stock PI manifold, just has some turbo cams and a 76mm turbo.

Also another guy making like 650 rwhp on only 13 psi with trickflow heads on his 2v.

The 2vs can make good power with the right parts.

I made nearly 600 rwhp with a dinky 67mm turbo through the power robbing auto as well...could have made more power but said no more, didnt wanna hurt the tranny or anything with the converter locking up with that much power.

My votes for 2v.

What parts does he have? aren't the blocks the same design? I think you can swap parts between motors. You can make a 2v turbo kit fit a 4v.

Yeah but, like over time. Like cams, you need an addition 2 if you ever decide to swap cams. I'd say go 2v cause I've read articles of people pulling massive amounts of power that's as much as a 4v. Just in the Long run if you eer decide to do more then just a turbo, a 2v might be cheaper
edit- my wordings a little bad right now, trying to do chores while posting.

Basically I could get a 96 2v, and put a turbo kit on it for the price of a nice 4v. (on3) I'm not saying I would go with them, but you get what I'm saying. I'm definitely not going to be going for 1000 horsepower.

But with the new job, my motor, exterior is going to need to match how nice the interior stuff I get from them is ;)
