Hey,

Co-workers buick is losing oil pressure when she comes to a stop. goes from 39 (supposed to run at 40) to 5.... its odd because its its only when she comes to a stop.

anyone have any ideas? she took it to a shop to have the oil changed last week and shes had this problem ever since. She said she checked the oil level and it looks fine.

Thanks all,
Chris

also, its an oldsmobile aurora.

have you ck'd the oil level for her? sounds like the car is about 2-3 quarts low. she might not know to wipe the dipstick clean to get an acurate level. Or she might be ck'ing it running. ya never know with women

when my oil pump went out, the oil pressure dropped every time i stopped and raised back up once i press the accelerator but not all the way back up.

What year is it? Engine?

Seems like that would be the 4.0L V8 version of the Cadillac Northstar. The one with the starter mounted in the engine's oil valley.

oi vey.... i dont trust stock oil pressure gizmos. change her oil and be sure its the right oil. different viscosities have different pressure readings.

i think they are going in to trade it in tomorrow, i will check the level (and over fill it just a little in case the pick up tube got bent or something) then wave bye bye to it. maybe throw some heavy weight with oil stabilizer in it.
