For those of you who are good with putting together nice looking interiors, I want some opinions! I find myself to be an artsy kind of guy who understands how things are "pleasing to the eye" in color combinations, etc, but I'm looking for some help/ideas.

My interior is all black with white face gauges/blue led, and 03 Cobra seats right now, and this is what I'd like to do.

-Paint the center dash and shifter bezel, and inside of the gauges dark silver like the 03/04 Mach1s.
-Put the stock black gauge faces back in w/ chrome rings.
-Roush Shifter w/ black shifter boot, chrome stick, and white cue ball, or black depending how the silver dash bezel/chrome shifter arm flow with each-other.

The current interior for reference. Ignore the tan wheel, its going away as soon as I get a little extra time and money.

mines painted sorda like u described, i have the center section and door cups painted silver. Dunno if i would do around the gauges though. If you do too much then it will look cheap.

i prefer not painting the door cups. i think it makes waaaayyyy too much... .. you know... lol.

i painted my vents and raido trim (just the little plastic ring that went around my aftermarket sterio) and it looked good.

its a good idea to stay away from flashy colors (honda pink, yo) and painting "large" items (door cups, airbags, etc.)

the *most* i would paint would be the raido bezzle, and the trim around the gauge cluster.... everything else would be kind of gawdy...

get rid of the dash carpet, the steering wheel cover, the steering wheel/airbag, change the gauges up a little bit (as you said you were thinking..) and thats where i would start... perhaps highlight the "mustang" and the running horse on teh airbag ?? ?? (just an idea, ive never seen it before.)

I like Soddyrebel's... Btw Soddyrebel, what are those switches below the radio for? As Chris said though, keep it clean and don't get carried away or it'll look cheapp.

I actually painted all the flat/satin pieces inside the car gloss black and love the difference it made. I am going to add some black racing stripes as well so I also painted the DFG stripe that would be between them down the center of the dash. I also painted the gauges bezel, as well as the surround that is under the plastic and added the chrome rings. In the end it freshened the interior up %200 while not making it scream like the way we hate most painted dashes to look. If you were not familiar with the SN's you would not notice the difference, and the green stripe tends to disappear on some curves and show in others.

rather then post all the pics just check out the page.

Soddy, I really like yours, except I dont think I would do my door cups. What brand/color is the paint you used? That silver is perfect. I want something dark that will go with the suede in the seats.
I think I like the white gauges with black bezel, it seems to fit with the silver stereo bezel. What I dont like is the uneven glow from the aftermarket gauge faces, so I was looking for any reason to put the stock ones back in.
Im definitely understood on not doing too much and making it look cheap. Thats why I only want to do a couple pieces, and the chrome shifter/cue ball will finish it off. No one makes black aftermarket gauge faces like the Mach1's do they?
I'm also not sure about black gauge faces, silver bezel, AND chrome rings. I think the chrome rings might get "lost" with the silver bezel.

I would normally agree, but would you call mine ricer? I think the gloss black is just a cleaner/fresher look while not crying out like you said. The chrome rings were a nice addition and with the white leds in the stock gauges I think they look even better at night. They catch the light and throw it in different areas and again makes for a clean look that is not begging for too much attention.

Here is mine. I think it's pretty understated and just has a few things to "spruce it up" I would finish mine off with the chrome rings for the stock bezel or try and find a 35th anniversary one. Anyway, I have a mach 1 shift ball and shifter bezel ring(ford OEM), and billet accessory knobs and window/door lock switches/pins from UPR.

+1

So they 03/04 Mach 1's are gay? Is that what you're saying? watch it buddy!! lol. If I painted it bright pink or even white, it would look pretty dumb. But a dark silver would be great. MOST of the new Fords out now with black interior have a silver radio bezel. Ive noticed this a lot in the Focus' and F150's and many others. It breaks up all that solid black.

ttocs, your glossy black looks good to me because you have lots of gray in your interior. I want to get away from all the black, lol

I am actually going to be adding a little more black and replacing the carpet with black. I am going to skin the grey panels on the bottom with carbon fiber, I think the grey/black in there will be a cool way to seperate them as well as change them up from everyone elses.

Here what I would do;

Paint the door bezels, vents, radio,ac and cluster bezel all gloss black.
Also do leds on the cluster with the 35th anniversary cluster bezel and the rings. And be done with it, I partially agree with 95opal, painting the interior parts to match your car's color or other than GLOSS BLACK is ricer...

I have the cobra cluster with the 35th aniverssary bezel and leds, ill post some pics when I get home as I don't access to them here at work.
