Here what I would do;

Paint the door bezels, vents, radio,ac and cluster bezel all gloss black.
Also do leds on the cluster with the 35th anniversary cluster bezel and the rings. And be done with it, I partially agree with 95opal, painting the interior parts to match your car's color or other than GLOSS BLACK is ricer...

I have the cobra cluster with the 35th aniverssary bezel and leds, ill post some pics when I get home as I don't access to them here at work.

Yeah, I dont like matching the interior parts to the exterior, or under the hood. It looks cheesy. I always liked the dark silver in the Mach1's, thats where I had that idea.

I found two NOS 35th anniversary cluster bezels on ebay, but they are $200!

I'd sell you mine for 100 shipped LOL!!

haaa. I dont remember when I had mine apart, but doesnt the gauge bezel separate enough to just paint it? I'm sure there is a close to OEM color out there for it.

You have to cut it off or seperate the glue in some other way to paint it.

Why would you not want to pull things from the outside, inside the car? I think it helps with the overall flow of the car.

Think about it.... for example, a red car, with a bunch of the interior pieces painted the same red. Or even under the hood. IMO, its too much, and its very cheesy looking. My car is white, and the only white I want in my interior are the gauge faces and possible a white cueball on the shifter. Anymore white than that, and I might as well put a double decker spoiler and a Vtec decal on the side. lol.
You have to be careful when changing things like that, to make it different, but to also keep it looking like you put some real thought and work into it.

ha I feel like this thread bashes the heck out of my car, but I can explain.

When I bought my car the idiots who owned it before me had sprayed everything gloss back, but very poorly. I mean everything, seats, carpet....
So I couldn't return back to factory so I painted things the same color as the exterior, a dark red.
(they had the car repainted, and it looks awful too)
So I have more than I would like to have painted red, however I plan on buying OEM parts because alot of stuff is like cracked and what not.
No I'm not posting a picture because I don't feel like being called a ricer, good luck though

That dash carpet reminds me of my Grandmom's old 70's Buick.

Funny, because I have a 70's Chevy... with a dashmat for when its stored away, lol. The sun will destroy those old dashes out here though, and my replacement was mint. I guess thats where I have the habit of the dashmat and why its in the Mustang. I've seen cars out here in Southern AZ with cracked dashes, and its usually from the sun cooking them!!!

Cobra gauges!? Where? haha. How much? I might have a little extra money soon.

JAVI, check your PM, I was getting back to you about the tires, Greyhound isnt finding your zip/city as a destination to choose.

As for the interior, I think Im going to leave it all black, get the chrome shifter/white ball, and get some OEM white Cobra gauges, paint the needles red, and maybe get the chrome rings.

If I swap 96-98 Cobra gauges into my GT, I know the tach has the redline higher, but will the tach read correct still? I'll just have to remember redline is different.

Well sad fact is guys. That dash carpet will keep his dash in better shape long after ours are warped or cracked. I dont mind it. Just take it out for a show maybe?

I like the gauge cluster being silver, but if you drive your car alot then painting anything else will just result in a scratched/chipped trim piece over time.

Not knocking anyones painted interior. I happen to like the silver radio bezel

After puting a good coat of clean on my dash I am happy to say there are no scratces on it yet but I am prety carefull with it. I like the way I painted my gauge cluster gloss as at night the lights reflect of of it and makes it look pretty cool.

I just noticed the stripe on the bezel. I like that touch of color..

The only reason I havent painted mine is cause i always lay my phone by the shifter. Plus the charger wire being floped around. Just makes me nervous. I wanted a smoked pewter radio bezel and gauge cluster.

that is what I love about the stripe. It is a nice design cue from the outside but isn't screaming for attention like the other painted dashed tend to do. IT blends in some angles and is easy to see in others.

I keep my phone in the door pocket.
