Craigslist.....

1996 Cobra coupe - all factory - 150,000 miles, seems to run fine. Clutch is shot...but drivable. Body is a 7/10 - no dents but lightly scratched and faded (restorable), interior is a 5/10, small rip in leather drivers seat....dude was sloppy, needs cleaning.

Car is completely there.

Comes with a "in a box" with only 3,000 miles on it Vortech V2 supercharger....its all there. Looks brand new and serial number was verified with Vortech as at bare minimum worth $1,000 on trade for a replacement. The Vortech spins freely, no play in the pulley and has absolutely no grinding or metal meshing sounds in the gearing when a stethescope is applied during rotating it.

I have him talked down to $2,850 for everything.

Good buy?

I always find it suspicious when someone is willing to drop their price so low. Idk why. I think I have trust issues.

I'm heading up there to look at it tonight again....I will get some pics and post them. The Vortech is for my 96 Cobra vert....that's really what I want out of the deal, the car was in "the package".

I agree. This guy has a story, medical. His arm is in a sling, they removed half his muscle and bone from cancer, can't drive stick, probably has med bills up the wazzoo! I don't like taking advantage of people either but he seems to need cash and he started at $3,500.

I got a guy to drop down his price from 6800 to 5800 for a 01 mineral gray gt. now I'm kind of suspicious about the car. Keep us updated! Sounds like a good project cobra!

Is that a car you purchased or are just looking at right now? I'd be curious how that turned out too.

I'm looking at it right now. I think I'm going to pass on it though. He told me he had to new a new intake manifold because his heater hose cracked. I'm suspicious about that. Maybe something went wrong, maybe his engine over heated. I think thats why he dropped his price so low.

Be a great time to upgrade to a custom sheet metal intake.. If the SC is complete you are NOT loosing any money even if the car needs work...

thats an excellent price even if it needs some work the sc alone would get you back alot of your money invested in the purchase. Intake manifolds for 96-98s are not pricey.

This is a bit much for any street driven cobra of these kind the stock manifolds can be worked to do some amazing things. the sheetmetal ones are used usually in really high hp situations and even then most people just run the stock with no runners.

Well, I'm home. I bought it. It's rough (needs wash/wax/cleaning) but starts great, runs great and sounds great. It's in the driveway, towed home....I've driven it about 150 feet up the driveway so far.....about 30 foot of that was all fishtailing on the blacktop. I'm thinking the clutch is not too bad really.

I would be skeptical about that too...good call. There are a lot of them out there.

id jump all over that......wanna sell the s/c?

The SC was the reason I wanted the deal, I didn;t "need" another cobra.....but what the hell...I have a big driveway.
