Ok, Got stuck in a traffic jam today and my stang got so hot I hade to pull over and let it cool down. After it cooled I started it back up and The fan kicked on for about 10 sec then stoped. What could cause this? when the car cets hot the fan kicks on then turns off. My thought is the relay in the CCRM is bad. Anyone eles ever had this problem? I checked for voltage at the fan connection and it was all over the place.

it might have a thermal relay in the wiring and that's is what is tripping the fan back off after a few seconds. It would do that if the fan is drawing excess current.
Does the fan stay on Hi when the a/c is on?
What is the actual temp when the fan kicks on

when you plug in the reader to pull codes, one of the first things you'll hear is the low speed fan kick on for a few seconds followed by the hi speed for a couple seconds. This will tell you if the CCRM relays are working.
You can also run a jumper wire to the fan to make sure it's working. Watch you fingers.

Note that it could also be the actual fan motor is bad and when it starts to pull amps when on, it shuts off.
My suggestion if this is the original fan, is to start looking for a replacement.

As stated, you can also hook a set of wires up from your battery (temporarily) and feed directly to the fan wiring.
If the fan turns on and stays on, then the problem lies elsewhere and not with the actual fan itself.

Good luck. Intermittent problems can drive you nuts!

Common for the plugs to melt, there was a recall back in the day

I got a question for you guys, overheating has been an issue in my car for years, i have changed headgaskets two times since 2010. This year i rebuilt my engine cause my oil pump stopped working.

The thing is the car keeps heating and ive done all the troubleshooting with and Im up to the point that i hate my stang sometimes. It has a new water pump, changed the T-Stat 6 months ago, i have the fan wired up to work all the time and i have a custom radiator. The only issue i have is a leaking coolant tank, could this cause the overheating?

This how the car works on a daily basis, i turn it on and drive for about 10 mins, it get up to the middle of the gauge and drops down suddenly to about 1/4 of the gauge. Then it goes up slowly to the middle, after like 1 hour of driving the gauge needle starts rising up to the A and L of NORMAL on the gauge. I do have an autometer watertemp gauge but i still havent installed it, i know oem gauges are POS but i dont think its reading that bad. I can feel the hot of the engine and you can feel the lack of power when it gets real hot.

Sorry for hijacking your thread bro, but can anyone help me on my issue? I need help ASAP

The first part is normal as the temps will fall as the t-stat opens. You can't make assumptions about the dash gauge through the range. That's probably why Ford decided on the range as being "Normal". Ambient air temps will have a significant affect especially if the A/C is running. Temps in the 200 - 215 are pretty average but you will need to install that gauge you have to determine if you in fact have an issue.
