Paint is Falling Off!

Suprise suprise my paint seems to be peeling everywhere. Now it is on my door. I decided to get the whole car repainted. I cant fin anyone to give me a good deal so I have made my decision to take it to the Job Corp adn let them do it. I talked to the guy who runs the place and he says they will take all the parts, emblems, and molding off. They will then strip ALL the paint off the car and also take out any dents. All I need to do is pay for the paint and various supplies. The total cost will be $1500. Some people say it will turn out like crap but the seem to do it right and know what they are talking about. I just got out of the military and am not willing to pay $5000 dollars for a paint job. I will post pictures when it is all done and let you know how it turned out. I bring the car in on the 15th of this month. :icon_salut:

good luck. i have seen guys at school paint cars really good at college and all you have to do is pay for paint. cant beat the price. and it sucks even more for a bad $5000 paint job

And if they eff it up, take it back and make it a learning experience for them lol.

lol, yea. im with JR... if you bring them back a shizzy product, they will have to fix it...

well, i guess they might not HAVE to fix it, but if they dont, id just park my car outside their facilitys with big vynal stickers that have their name and logo and "does shizzy paint work" on it...


take lots of pictures, post them on craigeslist and local forums... maybea $5.00 newspaper article.

I've seen those kids do excellent work. You should ask to see some of their previous work, or where you can find a car they've sprayed.

Yeah, they totally have the equipment to do great work. It's actually peoples unwillingness to pay that leads to people lowering their standards and doing crappy work.

I would suggest doing all the body mods you want to your car done first. Hood... cobra bumper.. saleen wing. Its just a less of a hassle in the end.

nice dude, that sounds like a good deal. My white GT is the same way.. i think they used bad primer, because once it chips, huge strips peel off at a time..

For some reason white cars in the 90's had primer problems. Chevrolet pickups had the exact same problem with the paint peeling, and so did the SN95 white mustangs.

It's strange, but the exact same thing happened to my dads white 1996 gt... Until I painted it at School... for free, all you have to pay for is materials. The Total was around $800, and it turned out very good, even won 1st place at some car show that I didn't get to attend.

Yup. White fords just don't like keeping paint.

The guy there said that Ford did not use a sealant on their cars like they use on cars today and that it why it falls off so easily. I already had one part of the car repainted last year, but I am not going to keep doing small repairs over and over.

Yea, the horrible thing is the right side of my car had been touched up, you could see the two different layers flaking differently. It was weird, annoying, and looked like poo.

Get that white schmexy again!
