All of the manufacturers had paint problems from '87 thru '94 due to cutting corners to save money. They did this by removing the primer layer from their paint process. Color was laid down right on the sealer. The litigation went on for years. The lucky ones got their cars stripped and repainted correctly by the dealers. What made them think paint would actually stick to the sealer??

Got some news for ya...... thanks to the EPA, nearly all (if not all) automotive paints are water based acrylics now.

Hmmm I wonder if water based acrylics are compatable with Plastic Based 2 part paints, or Lacquer...

Of course technology is constantly changing anyways... Water Based paints are getting better, and I'll try them, especially if they don't hurt your lungs as much as previous paints... from what I've heard, but if they still do then they are no more environmetally safe then what we use now. We shall just have to wait and see.

I would stop in the shop from time to time with pizza for the class. By showing your appreciation they might take more of an interest and hopefully that would relect in their work.
