Paint Price Quotes

So I hit a pheasant with the pass side of my front bumper, didn't damage it but it knocked the paint off. And my drivers side fender has the clear coat comin off. My car has its fair share of dings and little scratches so I will prob get the whole car painted after college. But for now I would like to fix the 2 major "defects". Went to three places, the local chevy dealer (they have a good body shop) and two local places. Anyways, the chevy dealer wanted about 800, another place wanted to replace the bumper, they thought it was cracked enough to crack the new paint, (it has visual cracks in the plastic, it feels smooth) they wanted a little over 1000, and the third wanted a little over a grand as well. I was hopin for somewhere around 600.....what do ya think?

I pay approx $200 per body panel for a rough idea. Im getting my hood, bumper and fenders re-done and he is charging me $700.00

That is for a re-paint so little to no bodywork.

When I had my passenger door repaired and repainted it was about $800.00. They had to repair some dings from a lawn mower gone wild. So IMO $800.00-$1000.00 is in the ballpark.

A top quality paint job will run you $3,000-5,000 but a avg job with not too much body work should be in that $1000-1200 range.

Labor costs etc vary for different areas also so what i pay $100 for might only cost you $75.

Now if you do have to replace the front bumper why not get a Cobra from Blue Oval fairly cheap.

It all depends on where you go and what all you have done. I'm having a retired bodyman do mine. He does it all the time on the side (had a 350z in for a two tone paint job when I went by there... kinda funny to see it parked there becauses a pretty big redneck) and he's charigns $950 to fix my peeling adn repaint and onle $2500 to sand the WHOOLEEE shebang down and start from nothing. Not too bad IMO

same here i have a retired guy doing my paint, they can charge almost half price since there is no overhead, out of his garage/paint booth, cash in hand.

ya im with everyone else on this.. Find someone on the side and youll get it done alot cheaper... I do mine out of my two car garage. But like they said the overhead is what kills you other wise ya you could probally get your stuff fixed from 400 to 600 from someone on the side... Atleast i would charge in that neighborhood..But also remember two things you can always get a good quote without the person who is doing the work... Plus the biggest one to remember is you get what you paid for... I can do 200 dollar jobs and i can do 2000 dollar jobs.. But if you find someone you like aslong as you keep going to them they will start cutting you a break.. Atleast i do for the people that come back to me...
