First Coat


Wet Sanded After 2nd Coat, Ready for Final coat.



Final Product


Hopefully it holds up ok for a little while,Until i can afford Real Paint.

dude why didnt i think of this before... i have a stock spoilerless decklid in black with say b (average) paint on it.... lol i would have traded you lid for lid with your wing lol

We might have been able to work somthing out hell i would have even bought yours there was one at the JY and i went back to get it and it was Gone!!! So i just did mine...

Looks Pretty good what did you wet sand with what grit ?? Also what clear did you use ??
I did 1 coat of paint then a 2nd coat with a generous amount then wet sanded lightly with 1000 grit,then Sprayed the 3rd coat.No Clearcoat

I used Rustoleum,I have had pretty good results with it i did my old rims with the same paint and they came out just as good,Don't Realy have any tips im not all that good with Rattle can paint untill i tried rustoleum if the conditions for painting are good it comes out good,Reading the directions on the can seemed to help me out.

Another rattle can master. Nice. Paint is paint if you can shoot it right. Def think about having it cleared though if you keep the car outside. Or be prepared to wax it every wash.

did you not wet sand the final coat? if not, it didnt leave any orange peel?

Nope,And Nope.I have never ran into Orange Peel with a Rattle Can.

i find that very hard to believe. anything i have ever painted with a rattle can leaves orange peel. whether it be on a car, or anything around the house.

i actually dont understand how you wouldnt get orange peel from using a rattle can. just from the simple fact that the paint shoots out of the can in microscopic dots, and naturally applies to the surface in that texture, would cause orange peel. its not like you do something to the paint to make it orange peel.

looks good man not to bad for a DIY paint job.
i cant wait to get see my car when it comes back from paint. so old lady hit my car when my drove it worlk last week. so i go that fixed and i had the the flat black on my deck lid painted to match. and when i get home im going to do my hood my-self.

Idk what to tell you,You get orange peel with a Real paint gunto if you don't do it right,Its all about the conditions you paint in i guess.I used Gloss Black Rustoluem Rattle cans on my wheels also with no orange peel.

oh im not doubting you that it came out nice, i just find it hard to believe that a spray on paint came out with a glass smooth finish without any wet sanding or other finishing work.
