I painted my brake calipers black with the caliper paint you can buy off americanmuscle.com. I gave them a good 2-3 coats and they looked really good last year. But i had to drive my mustang through this last winter and the paint on the calipers has worn off in some areas and doesnt look too good anymore. is this paint bad quality? and I was going to repaint them once the weather gets a little warmer and was wondering will i have to scrape off all the old paint with some steel wool and do the whole process again? I did think it was kind of weird that the kit didnt come with any primer it was just a 3 step process of spraying cleaner on, using steel wool to scrape of all rust, and then paint on 2-3 coats. I just thought it would last alot longer...

There aren't any brake caliper kits that I know if that come with primer.

Yes, you will need to start over. Surface prep is the most important thing, sand with the wire wheel till bare, clean with brake cleaner, sand some more, cleaner again.

Again I highly recommend G2 paint kits over dupli-color which is what American muscle sells

Look in the how to section painting calipers i had posted some stuff in there for taking off the paint, also use some kind of primer so the paint has something to adhere to should stick a hole lot better.
