I wanna paint a couple things on 94gt what kind of paint do you use? Do you do any prep work or do i just spray, let it dry and reinstall?

I wanna paint my engine pulleys, fuse box, intake manifold, valve covers and some other parts just to name a few.

Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

ANY PICS OF YOUR ENGINE BAY WOULD BE NICE TOO.

everything in my engine bay was done with engine enamel, both Duplicolor and VHT spray paint... some parts i sand blasted and some i just sanded down, cleaned and sprayed. Used primer on most of the parts too.

upper intake, valve covers, both front brackets, t-stat housing, block, oil pan, coil bracket, power steering pump. the paint on everything still looks perfect.

Looks good. Which grit sandpaper you use i got 400 and 1000 grit. Also did you leave anything on the engine to paint or you pulled everything off? The valve covers look like hell to get to. Can paint the alternator or would that mess something up?

I don't even remember what grit sandpaper i used. I think the only thing i sanded was the plastic part of the power steering pump and maybe the valve covers. I didn't sand the upper intake at all and it came out sickness.

Everything i painted was off the engine.

Did you paint it all together?? If so how long it took you to paint it all?

i painted a few parts at a time, probably took several days overall. I was not really in a rush to get it done so i took my time.

I have been painting mine slowly one piece at a time

Prep is everything when it comes to making it last. I degrease, sand, prime, paint and then clear everything.

Prep work is absolutely the most important part of painting. Here's what my engine looked like before I installed it (now it looks like a steaming pile of poo):

Before install:

After install:

I used engine paint, BTW.
