Feel free to move this if it's not in the appropriate section.

So yesterday I traded my Cobra for a GTS with a lil moolah on my end. I went for a nice long joyride, and when I got home I threw it in neutral and ripped the e-brake all the way up... like to the last click... and it still rolled down my driveway until I put it in gear. My driveway isn't even that steep.

SO I want to know, what's wrong with it? Is it just a stretched cable, or something else? How would I go about fixing this?

Thanks guys!

Might be rear brake pads, or the cable not hooked up on one side, or stretched cable.

I vote stretched cable. I have the same problem on mine. Logically a cable can hold its tension for 15+ years, got to be replaced sooner or later.

Mine was the same way, I'm guessing it was stretched. When I swapped rear ends it came with the cables and once installed grabbed like new

I had that problem a while back. Turned out the front cable that attaches to the lever and Y's off to the rear cables was snapped. Front cable wasn't terribly expensive but very hard to find, found them at LateModelRestoration. Installation was horrible.. Have to wind up a coil on the parking brake and ended up taking two people about an hour to get everything lined up and put in place finally. However, it does work and quite well I might add. If the front is just stretched, you can adjust it.. How I did mine was (not sure if it's the right way but it worked) take out center console, don't remember if you can get to it with just the console bucket out or not. then you'll see the handle and attached to it on the top is a thumb screw looking thing with a steel cap/stop on it. I got a screwdriver and pried the cap off then the spring on the handle tightened itself. Get a pair of channel locks and squish the cap so it'll sit nice and tight, then replace back on the adjuster. Test and re-assemble. Someone correct me if I'm wrong or there is a better way.
