Anyone have any experience with these heads as part of a PI swap for 96-98 mustangs? Was wondering if they were worth the extra money over stock PI heads. I plan on using upgraded cams in the swap - hoping to get close to 300rwhp N/A on my 98 GT vert
The guys at modular powerhouse and StangNet have spoken very poorly about them, Im not sure about them myself so I would do some research before I go and buy a set.
It looks like Patriot has taking care of the problems it was having with the valve guides so i don't see a problem with buying from them now...they are much cheaper then most places....and it will add some HP over the stock PI heads.
I believe they rework them, thats why they're more, I dont' know all the detials about the Patriots, I'd keep check for feedback. Ported PI heads, cams, and a good tune will get you close if not over 300.
Thanks for the feedback guys - any recommendations on head/cam combos in both PI and ported PI? I want to avoid PTV and still be ready for a supercharger down the road - my goal is better open track performance and reasonably civilised street performance
Well, my feelings are - If you're gonna do it, do it right. porting, valves, whatever your able to fork out the cash for. Porting gives you more top end. I'd go with cams, you get a very good gain from them, especially under boost. Get a blower spec cam, if your going to add a blower.
