which was more popular in the 90's?
the crystal clear turn signal housings?
Picture013-1.jpg

or the kind like i have, stock hatching on the back with a clear reflector lense?

(the placement of the fender badges has since been corrected, old pic)

the bottom car is mine currently. i'm sort of torn between the two different corner options. not sure what was more common/period correct for the car?

also, the stock fog lamps and headlights will stay regardless so just looking for input on the corner markers

should i keep what it has now?

just a simple matter of aesthetic appeal really

thank you, i'm 22 now so i grew up in the 90's and remember seeing the mystic's as a kid. always wanted one, eventually did get one. as for noticing what corner lights were popular then, that was a foreign concept to me at the time so i don't really know either.

I like the clear lenses. not a big fan of fluted lenses on anything myself. clear lenses just look cleaner IMO

This is what the originals looked like for a 97. I would think that they were the same in 94, but I could be wrong.

they were the same Matt, but the period correct aftermarkets are the ones you have on it now. The ultra clears didn't come out until later when headlights became more affordable. you can get a nice set of lights w/ corners now for little over a hundred bucks. i remember back in the early 00s just a cobra headlight pair was almost $300 no including the side markers. it was easier to get a matching clear set of corners than replace the whole thing.

I can't remember seeing any aftermarket lights back then. They didn't start popping up until the early 2000's when eBay got popular. If anything it would have been the stock style w/o yellow from APC.

first mustangs I remember seeing were the 94-98's. I loved the vertical tails but everytime I saw horizontal I'd go EW LOL.

As for the headlights, definitely the top one, the clear headlights just look a lot cleaner than the oem style lights that just look like they're fogged over.

if what i have on it now was what was available at the time i might just keep them. from the beganing of my restoration the thought process behind it was to restore it back to stock new condition and "lightly" mod it as to appear is someone bought the best svt had to offer in the mid 90's and upgraded it tastefully with the best parts of the time

the only part of this plan that has really gone off track is the 03 blower and C heads going on it.

aside from that why don't i just briefly list the visial mods i have for the car and you can tell me if you think it goes with the theme to some extent

-Corbeau xr1 race sear drivers side, Corbeau A4 wide passenger seat

-mid 90's Alpine split level flip out dvd player
1238-1.jpg

1238-2.jpg

-painted mirrors
-above pictured corners with clear reflector lenses
-03 04 svt trunk badge to denote the eaton blower lurking beneath the hood
-Cobra badge in grill
-Saleen 18x9/10's with authentic center caps
-mmr rear seat delete (plan on recovering them with peble grain vinyl and adding raised and covered SVT logo to back board)

on the shopping list:
-autometer lunar boost/vacuum gauge, intercooler coolant tempt with black bezels in Speed of Sound llc A pillar pod
-Aeroforce Intercepter scan multi guage with green display and with face with red SVT logo and black bezel mounted in steering coloumn pod
-fuel pressure and oil pressure autometer lunar guages with black bezels mounted in dash clock guage pod
-MGW back shift knob with white letter, 5 speed pattern, white stripes, and white cobra logo on side
-floor matts with Cobra logo embroidered
-custom printed bacl guage faces to my personal specs (essentially 03 cobra guage cluster modified to accept analog odometer and tripometer, red SVT on tach, kpm dash's on speedo modified to the 03 style dot markers etc . . .)
-Saleen pedal set with rubber hex pattern inserts
-dumping the exhaust

everything else will soon be back to stock specs, currently trying to get vinyl decals sets produced for the vin tags on each body panel as well as the valve cover signature sticker. all other decals will be bought from ebay and late model resto.

Pretty much the way I remember it also. Not much was available for us in the early days except the stock Cobra lights. APC was indeed one of the first options and I went with the projectors that came out @ 2000 or so until I saw some Black Beauties.

i got my corners from late model resto, are the stock appearance ones with the clear reflector lense like mine visually the same as the early apc ones you are refering to?

would also be open to feedback on above listed mods. i'm pretty set on them but would always like to hear comments or suggestions

i'm pretty set on what i have listed, i've always been a little torn on the headlights though. since those were what fits the them, and are already on the car i'll stick with them. i was just curious on input from others on everything else from a purely aesthetic viewpoint . wether or not it would appear as a coherent overall theme

i don't know exactly what year the model i have was released. i looked for a minute or two on google with the model numbers but couldn't pin it down. i already had it and it seemed to fit the ticket. i am almost positive that they did have mobile dvd players in the 90's, as for availavility that is entirely different.
