PI Cams or Crower Stage II?

Getting ready to take my car to the mechanic for a PI Swap. I have purchased both the PI Cams and the PI intake Manifold kit for my 97 GT (auto). I will be putting a Vortech on it later this summer, but I planned on getting this swap done first.

Once the Cams and PI intake are on I will get a Dyno tune. Then I will take the car back late July to get the Vortech and get the install and tune done.

So I was trying to decide what the best route to go would be for the cams. This car is my 100% daily driver, so I dont want to effect its daily drivability. I would really like to wake this car up though.

Since im getting the Vortech the Crower Stage 2 blower cams would be perfect, but their $600 and I would have to wait for the Vortech to put get them installed.

So I am thinking that its between the PI Cams and the Crower Stage 2 NPI cams. I plan to eventually get my NPI heads ported. My question is, is it worth it to go with the Crower Stage II NPI Cams or should I just stick with the PI cams? Also, if i decided to wait and do all these installs together would the Crower Stage II NPI Blower Cams be a huge difference over the Crower stage II non-blower cams? How bout compared to the PI Cams?

id go with pi's, on a boosted car you are gunna be looking at 20-25 horses with the pi cams, and with the blower cams your looking at 30-35 horses, and for 550 more bucks, i dont see an improvement of 5-10 ponies worth it when my k&n can do that...

you dont need a blower to run blower cams. driveability will be fine with them, and youll pick up more like 45-50 over the PIS, but youll need to add the cost of springs and labor in

Actually stock PI cams will flow plenty of air to aid your Vortech when you get it.
The major downfall of the stage two cams is your powerband will be bumped up higher
and in the lower rpm's your low end torque will suffer some.
The stock PI cams are actually better than people think.

They are ground almost exactly like an NPI stage 1. Thats ok, for a hundred bucks you cant beat it, but there are substantial gains to be jad with a purpose ground cam. I had no issues at all DDing stage IIIs with a blower, except my ability to light the tires from a 70 mph roll

So if I decided to go with the Crower Stage II Blower Cams with the PI intake manifold kit and a Vortech or procharger I would be right at about 400rwhp?

The Crowers sound good, but I dont want to lose much of my low end acceleration.

Since your so dead set on camshafts and you don't want to lose your low end grunt
your solution is to stick with any stage one cam.
You will most likey see 400rwhp with the Procharger P1SC or D1SC.
I have stage four camshafts in my STI.

Custom grinds=best option. Tell them what you want out of it instead of just taking whatever characteristics the shelf grind offer.

Exactly. No reason to not go with custom grinds if you're going to pay retail for them anyway.
