Just outta curiousity how much they charging for the heads at Jegs? You can buy a set of Fox Lake stage 2's for $1700. Youll REALLY notice a difference with them. Or Im sure you could search around Corral or CL and find a nice used set too. I went that route and picked up my whole engine for a little over what the heads cost new with a set of $700 cams too. Deals are out there, just gotta search.

They look just like Freeze plugs IIRC. Not a modular guy so I could be wrong. 1st time I have heard of it on a PI swap.

Whew that is A LOT for basically stock heads. Dude you can pick them up used for like 250 and that comes with cams and all. I sold the ones off my old engine for $200.

Here is a link to Fox Lakes Heads. They changed their site up and there isnt pricing for complete heads, just prices for labor if you supply the heads.

If you're going with stock heads dont waste your money on the Trick Flow. Id at least throw a set of cams in it while its apart.

The oil galley plug looks like an allen head plug that just screws in on one end of the head. I've heard that you can use the one off of your NPI head.

I haven't done the swap myself yet but I will be in a couple of months. I too will probaby just go with new ones from Ford Racing. I can get PI heads at the junk yard for $60 a set (I have to remove them myself), but after a machine shop cleans them up with a resurface, new valve seals and guides, I'd probably be close enough to the purchase price of just getting ALL brand new ones from FR.

Btw, does the ones from FR come with rockers and lifters aswell?

Tony,

Your PI threads are getting filled with a lot of side-stuff.

to answer your original post: You can take the oil plugs off your NPI heads and put them on your PI heads.

Tony, you could probably buy some used heads and get them cleaned and rebuilt at a machine shop for a lot cheaper.

I seen a add online for pi heads and fr pi intake for 350 locally. 800 seems like alot of money when used ones are half to a quarter of the price. Just my 2¢.

Why not just some Nick McKinney's ModularHeadShop cams on it with the stock NPI's/PI intake? No need to crack that motor open to make some usable power IMO.

waste of money that could be going towards air-ride. get a used set and have them rebuilt at a machine shop.

MustangChris got it right, and I was pretty sure there was a guide I used online that showed them in a picture. I think I may have a picture of their location on the back of my heads somewhere. I just lined mine with a bit of threadlocker and some RTV after that and tightened 'em down quite a bit hoping to prevent oil leaks. There was no real guide to how much you're supposed to torque them (that I could find) or the exact kind of sealant you should use on 'em, so I just improvised. As far as I can tell I did that right.
