dude well than why the hell wont you use the god damn silicon? Put the extra money to a set of gears or something. I just pulled my heads off of my car. I can show you pictures that after 4000 miles with hitting 5800 atleast twice a day, the silicon is just fine!!!!!!!

Its ok to use the plates. Some people may not be confident in their own ability and feel safer with plates. I've done it both ways and would use the plates again if i could find them cheap enough.

since we all know you just patrol these threads looking for any way to make someone feel worse about themselves when they are just looking for help ur comments just roll of the shoulder......

No, I make you feel bad, and a couple others who can't seem to wipe their own ass without assistance. You probably don't know about the half dozen or so PM's I get a day from people with legit questions, who get all the help I can give them.

You being too lazy to go to google and looking for someone to do the legwork for you, or an install for you, or asking goofy questions about whether you should put steamroller tires on your 170 rwhp rocket... Well I just don't have much help to offer you, except to tell you, it ain't gonna make itself faster, so get your shit together and get to work if you want it to be faster.

If you don't want it to be faster, you just want some shine, that's fine, to each his own. I was at a Corvette show once where the winning car had no wiring, no engine internals, and nothing in the rearend, but he got the trophy he was after.

And if you would stop and pay attention a minute, plates are effing worthless, period. If they cost less than silicone, then I would totally use them... I don't think anyone should every part with a dime they don't have to. These cars are expensive enough as is.

As for the PM you got, if you run Livernois plates without the plenum milled at least .250, and especially if you use and aftermarket plenum, your hood will hit it, causing immediate and deep sadness, more than my taunts ever could I would imagine.

I hope you do put the damn thing on your car though, I want to see everyone going fast :thumb:

i went the rtv meathod, and was unsuccessful with sealing things off.. but i don't care b/c i'm going to be slapping heads on pretty soon..

all i gots to say is do it! you'll be so impressed with the top end, i was...

my friend has a 00 r/t dakota that used to hang side by side with me, and we ran 2 days ago and i pulled a car in a half with the pi on there.

i could give a shit less if i have to fill my resavor every 2 weeks, its not like i get free autozone shit anywys... oh wait i do

good luck in your build. jr is right... "i want to see everyone go fast"

I see lots of tears and a cowl hood in your future.

For the record, 4000 miles on mine and the rtv worked great. This was my first mod -ever- on a car, so it's not rocket science (before this the most I'd done is changed the oil).

Silicone shortage boost economy for car aftermarket :hammer:

I garrantee, he's gonna look at the price tag for the Livernois kit, and say hell no. Then you will beat your head against the wall telling him he can do it with silicone, and he will either claim he'd "rather do it the right way" or just man up and admit that smearing some silicone about is waaaayyyy beyond his skills and ask for a quote on having a shop do it. Then he'll be back to looking at the pricetag and saying, hell no...

So in the end, he'll just get a loud catback and roll around like he has power.

whats wrong with that? I do that year a round with my nonpi vert =] hah im a ricer i guess. if i ever do the pi intake it will be the $500 kit for sure.

So you guy's don't have the money for the 500 dollar kit.... But rather than try the silicone, you'll just go without?

To each his own.
