pi intake question

would like to know if i can port the stock pi intake and if any machine shop can doit .. and how much gain i would see .. thanks

since it is plastic i would guess no, and if you could it wouldnt be very much so the gain would be minimal.

you can pick up the victor jr intake cheap now a days http://www.americanmuscle.com/edelbrock-manifold-9904gt.html $329 bucks.. i've never really heard of anyone porting the plastic intake but i'd figure it'd be a lot of money since it is plastic and would have a good possibility to crack.. That would be my main concern, is just having air leaking out and then under high rpms the intake splitting and leaking fluid into the block.. just my opinion though

The is a PI intake from Ford that is made from metal - the one from the Bullitt mustang? Maybe that one? Otherwise aftermarket ones can be had that way, but the stock PI intake that is on most PI stangs is plastic and because it is that way will have very smooth runners.

Don't mean to stray, but was this Edlebrock intake tested anywhere that I missed? N/A or S/C applications?

yes and its a high rpm manifold lives 7+k and is short runner so you lose bottm end

what about when boosted?

yeah i know short runner is better, so i knew you were talking about N/A, and was wondering if you knew of any results from a P/A side of things?
