ok, so i am doing the pi intake now. its a 96 gt, BUT it aready has a npi intake with the aluminum X-over. so what i was told is that i can take the X-over from mine and bolt it to the pi intake. and i guess i aready have the alt bracket. i have the intake gaskets. i have the new 180 thermostat. so what i am asking is if i still have to buy a heater core coolant tube and a waterpump nipple and o ring? or if my stuff will work because i have an aluminum X-over npi on it now. what do i need

The reason for the updated heater hose is that the intake runners extend almost all the way down the valley of the block on the PI intake. The stock nPI heater hose design sits basically under the runners- fine for an nPI unit but the PI runners will hit it and you won't be able to sit the intake down properly at all. Some guys have run rubber hose and been fine with it; I just went with a new Ford PI hose.

New nipple and O-ring is a good idea, get yourself the cheap insurance of a new water pump too. Takes 5 minutes to swap it while everything else is apart.

I used the new nipple, IIRC (did it almost a year ago) the PI nipple is a little different from the nPI.

The nipple is not the same from NPI to PI..... only way you can use the NPI nipple is if you are going to use a rubber hose and clamp it.... if you use the proper Ford coolant tube you will need the PI nipple.
