Hey everybody, I've read through a bunch of threads regarding swapping NPI to PI and the need to tap for additional coolant sensors, etc. But I haven't really found info on compatibility between the old and updated intake manifolds.
My buddy locked up his 03 GT engine, and we are swapping in a Crown Victoria PI engine to replace it. The Crown Vic engine has the plastic crossover, and his 03 GT had the aluminum crossover. Are the two interchangeable (gasket patterns), should we just leave the Crown Vic intake attached, or should we swap to the Mustang manifold with the aluminum crossover?
Also, the heater core return hardline is different between the two engines, so it looks like we'll be pulling the intake one way or another. Does that coolant tube just pull off of a barb at the front of the block in the valley behind the water pump?
