The PI swap is almost completed and since my car had it's heater bipassed (we don't need them here in the tropics), the mechanic put a plug on the block, behind the water pump where the coolant tube runs under the intake manifold to the heater, eliminating that whole section. my question is; will eliminating this diminish the cooling capabilities in any way? or am I jumping the gun?

I don't see where it would hurt you. I know, for a temporary situation where a car is running hot, you can put the heater on inside the car to get rid of some heat out of the system, but that only buys a short time if your car is in real trouble. In your case, that wouldn't be an option, but that's a minor point.

i wanna say the heater tube off the back of the water pump only goes to the heater core. there are galleys on the sides where water pump bolts up for block coolant passages.
