I just finished getting my PI intake on. Car has not been tuned, only mod to the car is PI intake. 100% stock everything else. Looking for a little trouble shooting info.

First, when the car first starts the idle hangs up a bit, between 2k and 1,500rpm. eventually comes down to just under 1k rpm. If you tap the throttle it'll rev, start to come down in rpm then go up a little and stuck at that rpm for a slip second before coming back down.

Other then that at idle/parked everything seems fine.

Second, the car drives real nice and smooth if i'm below 1/4-1/3 throttle. Anything above that and the engine starts to miss and sputter. Will not gain rpm hardly with more throttle then that.

Important note, i wasn't able to tap the cross over for the second sensor. I've heard of people say that it doesn't cause driving issues, just the fans will run on high and i'll have a check engine light. I'm going to get a tap from an auto parts store and put the second sensor on.

First step, is the sensor my problem? I'm going to have it installed soon.

Does the ECU just need a little time to adjust for the PI intake, is this normal at first?

Or is there something else that could be wrong.

Do i absolutely need a tune for it to run right?

Thanks guys.

The more i'm driving it, the less its doing it. Stopped doing it almost completely in 1st. Still idles a little funny. I'll keep this updated if it clears up totally.

Car feels good. Sounds good too. I still have 100% stock exhaust, and the intake swap really changed the sound of the engine. 1st pulls strong, but i haven't really been getting into it. still taking it slow letting it adjust.
