Well im kind of disappointed in a way. I really cant feel any difference until about 5000K rpms, then I can tell it revs a lot faster than it used to and it doesnt break down as much. It seems like from 3rd gear up it pulls better but im just surprised it doesnt have more low end power as well. Does this sound normal?

Also my current mods are :pI heads(i ported and polished them slightly), cams, intake, steeda UDP's, BBK CAI, Offroad X pipe, 2 1/2" catback, 3.73 gears

With my gtech thing before PI swap and catback i got a 14.6 at 93 mph (i think?)

I was hoping for 13.9 but i dont think it will happen

I was disappointed as well when I put in my PI engine. Then I bought a S/C and was still disappointed...

...nature of the beast I guess.

After my PI swap I felt the same until I got it tuned.. My first PI pull before the tune my numbers weren't but just a few HP over non PI it just made power on up in the power band unlike before. Now after the tune my final numbers were 50hp and 30tq over untuned.

With a pi swap and your mods your car should be capable of mid 13s atleast....

I dont know why your car doesnt feel much faster...maybe you need a tune.

You should have picked up a solid 50 hp or so.....it should be a big differance

Congrats on the swap. I did mine about 8 months ago. I felt a HUGE diference, but I did go with upgraded parts : )

If you get Long Tube's and a tune; I assure you will feel a difference. Let us know what kind of numbers you put down.

I'm kinda in the same boat... Except with my P.I. swap I also intalled 3.73's, ported the heads, and got stage III VT cams. 277hp and 299trq to the wheels. The best i've been able to run on Mickey Thompson ET Streets was a 13.6 :crybaby2:

With this swap it's not too surprizing to me. With just the simple PI swap only, you gain about 35hp up top, about 10 ft/lbs. of torque and whatever else the comp/ratio gives you. But still not bad. You really won't feel the torque difference down low too much.

From what I've heard & read, you can do this swap and still run the '98 ECM w/o problem. The '99+ TB is just a couple mm's larger (65mm dia. to 67.5 I think) but leave the MAF as is. It takes a lot to "peg" it. I'm sure a special tune would help but what engine would it not help?

Another issue could be the tolerances built into the OEM cams/gears. This is why I mentioned the degreeing of the cams earlier. The OEM cams & gears can be as much as 6* to 8* out from each other when installed. Correcting this condition requires the addition of adjustable cam gears. This is the route I will probably go.

Still sounds like you didn't do too bad though!

How high do you spin it and who tuned your car? I've seen cars lay down 322 with that same setup. Are you an Auto?

I launch at 4000 and usually cut around a 1.8 60'. Not auto, a T-45 5 speed lol. Oh and Sniper tuned my car... I was hoping for something like 300 to the wheels:(

No offense but I would recommend finding a different tuner. I used stock unported PI heads and stock PI cams along with a set of tuned length shorties and made 250rwhp and 291rwtq through an automatic after the tune.

I know... But unfortunately I already bought their tuning software, so unless I wanna spend more money on different software, I have to go back to them...
