just lettin u know alot of companies make led bulbs that are just as bright and come in lots of different colors that way u dont have to run a ballast or anything just plugs in like a regular bulb food for thought

light output in HIDs runs ballasts to draw more power to the bulbs.
running LEDs will be brighter than regular halogen bulbs, but nowhere near what HIDs put out.

if you want the true color to shine through and improve the light output, get HIDs.

in the first picture i posted, i had these headlight bulbs:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/9007-HB5-5900K-SUPER-WHITE-XENON-HID-HALOGEN-HEADLIGHT-BULB-LOW-HIGH-BEAM-/190594241881?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item2c604d5559#ht_2360wt_1396

as you can see, the light shines white. a 6000K provides more light resulting in a brighter color.
& the HIDs i have in my fogs are 8000K. Bulbs series 893 if thats what youre asking..

Old pic, DDM Tuning 6000k 35w. $30 per set, I have the same ones in my headlights. Excellent quality, slim ballasts, and lifetime warranty I believe.

I also have 35 watt 3000k HID fogs (amber). My only issue is they are NOT close to the same color as my corner lights. My marker lights look closer to orange when compared to the Fogs.

I think you have your facts confused here, hids draw less current. When ther are first turned on they can/will drap up to 10 amps of current but once they warm up draw around 6-7 amps total from the light to the ballast. STandard hallogen lamps draw AT LEAST 15-20 amps all day long....

I went with 6k myself and they are almost too blue for me, I would do 5k if I had to do it again.
