i actually prefer watching REAL street cars being ran. real race cars don't apeal to me much, as i don't have one myself. and would rather be able to have a connection with the race.

basides, if you can afford to build an all out race car, you really shouldn't be too warried about a measly 10 grand. i'd rather it go to a weekend enthusiast who can really put a use to the winnings.

Wow, I think you might be more arrogant than me.

You have a 14:1 compression 446 ci alcohol motor in a dedicated drag car that is stuck in the 10s, and yet you continue to make condescending statements about the many thousands of other racers who have 12 second cars, and those people who might have some interest in watching them. That seems a bit counterintuitive to me. How about giving a little credit where credit is due, and leaving well enough alone?

If you didn't want to "waste your time" maybe you shouldn't have showed up.

That's just my humble opinion.

Paul.

I never made any condescending statements about 12 second cars. I merely stated MY humble opinion that I think they are far less interesting to watch than 9-10 second cars.

If you think I'm "stuck in the 10s," by all means come out to Speedworld on Sunday.

Oh . . . and bring your car. 8)

Even if you run high 9s, you still don't impress me. There are plenty of cars around here with much simpler and cheaper combinations running within a few tenths of you.

My cars will never outrun you, but I still have just as much fun.

Paul.

I agree. There are plenty of cars with cheaper combos that go as fast, or faster. But, my goal is to be able to race in Super Gas next season. So, I need the car to be able to run 9.90 N/A on the nose consistently. This season, the car ran within a couple hundredths every run and was super consistent, but not fast enough for Super Gas.

I could use a blower or a turbo in Super Gas, but it wouldn't be consistent enough for the car to win any races. I can go a lot faster on the bottle (and I will) but I want to make my goal on motor. I'll save the bottle for bracket racing and call outs.

If you think I'm trying to impress you, then you don't know me at all. I could give a rat's ass about your opinion of me or my car.

"According to your logic, 30 second cars would be just as interesting as long as they are within a few hundredths at the stripe."

I knew you were going to say this before I even posted it.

i think your a little to harsh on the 12.5 thing tad haha 12.5 is not terribly slow....it takes money to get to 12.5 ....if they went with a 15 second field then yeah thats slow ....

12.5 isn't at all hard to get to. a little shot of juice will put most cars at or past 12.5

and like what was said, if i wanted to see 12 second cars i would just go to a test and tune night. or just go outside and look at 3 of the cars that are in the driveway/garage...

I know that when I go to our local dragstrip(1/8th mile), I get bored watching the 8 second and slower cars. I would rather watch the cars running 7.5 and faster. Same thing when I am watching pinks. You can watch 2 turds race all day long and they are still turds. Give me two fast cars and I will be there all day.

I can see mid 12 sec cars every Tues/Thurs at the test and tune nights and it is fun to watch cars with similar setups run but its the guys running the 11's in street cars that excites me...so i'd like to see a group of 11.0-11.5 cars instead of 12.5's but thats just what i enjoy.

That being said Pinks as a show sucks.

well my car on bottle hasnt hit 12's yet...so i need more money and more mods ...

and on the announcing they were going to take a 12.5 class ahead of time so you 9-10 second cars wouldn't show up ...what about the 12 and 11 second guys that always show up and never get picked?? im guessing there was a reason for the 12 second picks.....maybe all the fast cars were horribly inconsistent like you were? :dunno: with higher hp the slightest thing can really affect your times...im sure you know that...with a mid 12 or slower they can run a really conssitant time easily

I guess my point is that if they are going to do 12.5 cars, they should publicize that ahead of time. I know at least 10 people who would have gone if they knew they had a shot.

There were plenty of deadly consistent nine and ten second cars, though.

The guys I know who went said there were a bunch of throttle stop cars running 10-flats based on the rumor that Pinks wanted 10 second cars. I know I definitely don't want to watch a bunch of throttle-stop bracket idiots sandbagging their way into the 10s. That's why it's Pinks all out.

I don't want to watch that either. But, there were plenty of legit high 9 low 10 cars going all out.

i agree with matt, the first several all out's were around 10 sec. as a viewer i enjoy seeing some of the other cars out there.

I hear ya. I also enjoy watching paint dry, celebrity ballroom dancing, infomercials, reruns of the Golden Girls, and knitting competitions.

Watching the fast cars gets boring. I'm hoping for a 19 second competition.

if they do a 19 second show, I can drive my wifes grocery getter Honda!!!!!

When you register for Pinks ALL OUT, the MINIMUM ET is 12.50....so the 12.50 guys went there hoping that there was just a SLIM chance that they'd appear on TV at least. That being said....for them to get picked, I'm sure they were pumped. I'd rather watch 16 12.50 STREET CARS run down the track than 12 GUTTED and TRAILERED BRACKET CARS and 4 Fast Street Cars that run 10.50s any day of the week. Besides, I'm sure the 12.50 guys could probably use 10gs more than alot of the 10.50 guys (although anyone could use 10 grand...i'm just saying). I think the PERFECT FOR TV CLASS would be 11.00's and STREET LEGAL! Street cars duking it out with some mild wheelies (may be more than mild if they're stick cars). THAT is what I want to see. It'd be a GREAT mix of new and old iron.
