I apologize for my first post being a request, but I really do need help with my rebuild lol. I've got about 6,000 to work with, and I'm going to have it done within the next few weeks. The problem is, I don't know what all specific stuff to get. I have a general idea what I want, but I really need help figuring out all the little things that cause problems down the road.

The car is a '94 GT, bone stock everything w/ 129,xxx miles.

I've been told good things about the Trick Flow kit. However, on Summit it says at the bottom that the kit won't work for 94-95 Mustangs...

I'll do the mandatory tranny building and such, but what is a good kit for rebuilds, and one that will get me to my goal of 400bhp???

Thanks everyone,
~MustangFu~

my buddy used it on his 95...honestly if you just want something with every part go for it...id reccommend piecing together your own setup tho..it will net more hp...and probably be a little less expensive if done right.

actually i would like to piece together my own kit...but i have little to no experience with what parts go together. i don't even know what all i need for the rebuild, i only wanted the kit because it has a lot of stuff and i hope it's complete lol.

how about....trick flow intake, AFR heads, custom cam, 75mm tb, 24# injectors, the trick flow rockers, uhh...i'm just guessing on what all there is lol.

thx for the replies, btw

You're going to need to do a ton of research and talk to alot of ppl. I recommend getting in touch with Ed Curtis at flowtechinduction.com or Jay Allen at Camshaft Innovations(google it) and talking to them. Two other places that are really good are fordstrokers.com and adperformance.com. Honestly your best bet is to talk to a professional who will set you up with exactly what you need.

And yes the TFS heads will bolt right on to a 94/95 car. The only thing you'd have to get is a TB adapter if you're going to stick with the SN95 TB setup.

And btw you're not going to get 400bhp out of a stock 302 shortblock without a power adder. If the car is running well you might want to consider going with a supercharger instead of doing a HCI. A Vortech S trim or a Kenne Bell will get you to your goal without having to tear the motor apart.

Stock motor with all the bolt ons(exhaust, cai, maf/tb,), an upgraded fuel system(255lph pump, 42lb injectors and maf calibrated for 42s) and the blower will probably make around 425 to the wheels after a tune.

You'd also want to get a better clutch and possibly upgrade the transmission to something stronger like a TKO. If you've got $6,000 to work with the blower/fuel upgrades and bolt ons is doable. However $6,000 is also enough to get a nice stroker from one of the places I mentioned. Get in touch with fordstrokers or ADperfromance and price out some complete built motors, you might be surprised.

Since you are new to cars and performance building I would suggest finding a very reputable engine builder near you (one that people in your town recommend highly from first hand experience) and telling him what you want out of the car and how you want it to perform. He can tell you considerations that come into play and what you can expect. He will also know how to build the engine for the way you want it to perform.
