Who really cares? Some people dont have the money to spend on a vortech or a procharger.

Some people dont have money to spend on a new engine either... but they run the powerdyne anyway, and hen it grenades on your, and send frags into your intake... you'll be wishing you had sold it up front and saved for a vortech.

I am not supercharger savy as I have never had one so why exactly does a powerdyne inevitably blow up? Why does a vortech not?

Powerdynes are belt driven internally, they have a bad rep of belts falling apart during high RPMs and pieces going straight into your intake and causing catastrophic failure. There are ways to upgrade parts i.e. Kevlar belts and such but these do not guarantee that something else wont fail. Prochargers and Vortechs although noisy (V-2 and earlier) are gear driven.

Im not touchy bud, it just seems like no matter what whenever powerdyne comes up in a thread somebody has to talk SH*T on them.

Maybe theres a reason for that.... Maybe theres a reason people run Vortechs and Prochargers.
Because they work, everytime.

I understand you guys are just saying they're known to fail. But don't you think I would've caught on to that. Unless you guys can front me some money for a vortech or procharger step up. But there's no reason for everybody to jump in and question why the OP or Im using a powerdyne. Maybe one person saying, hey those are known to fail, but we don't really need most of the posts on a thread talking shit on the supercharger in question.

there is a belt upgrade and a bearing upgrade eliminates all the OLD problems.

i've been in a car when the internal belt broke. nothing happened besides a loss in power, car went N/A and kept going. the head unit was rebuilt with a kevlar belt and new bearing to be safe. never a problem since, good luck trying to intercool it if you go that way.

i was just sayin....

unless you have a fox setup for a gt40 lower where you can swap the TB to the drivers side intercooling a powerdyne is not gonna happen easy.

that is the whole point of a powerdyne no need for an intercooler thats why its belt driven.

belt driven has nothing to do with not needing an intercooler. the system doesnt need an intercooler because its terribly inefficient, and puts out such ridiculously low CFM, that the air charge temp doesnt climb.

isnt it like 800 cfm at 6psi??

they make a ton of heat from what i remember, any extra way of cooling them is good.
