My left rear quarter window started doing a loud knocking noise when the glass reaches it's top or bottom position while I am still holding the button. On the top position it also does not fully raise it, there remains half an inch or less, and I need to raise it by hand to fully close it.

Before I disassemble everything, do you have a hint what could be wrong and what to look for?
The window lift motor is relatively new, I replaced it 1-2 years ago. The regulator is the stock one, I didn't touch it when replacing the motor.

Probably the regulator. My driver side front window does the same. They are not very robust, and after seeing how they are constructed, I'm actually surprised they last as long as they do!

Thanks, I'll inspect it. I was searching the net for new rear regulators, but everyone seems to offer only front regulators. I could find only used ones which does not make much sense to me to put in a used one. I guess it would fail again the same way in a couple of years.

Does anyone offer new or rebuilt ones?

I am pretty sure that it should be like the front window where there is a piece of plastic that hits a limit switch to tell it to stop going up. If you were to take it apart and take a look in the bottom you might find the piece as it is normally just glued to the window and then you adjust the switch height to get it to stop when it is at full height. I say "should be like the front" because I am not familiar with the verts

Yea, there should be new regulators on the resto sites (CJ, LMR, etc). Not 100% sure but I think some parts are interchangeable from the fronts and rears, maybe the motors. Definitely not the regulators though.

As you are in Europe look at Rock Auto. If they have them the shipping is fast for a reasonable price. CJ is the only specialist that i know ships overseas but their shipping charges are extremely high. Newer been able to order anything from them.

If you need sourcing some from this side of the pond that will not ship overseas let me know and you can send it to me and I will reship it out to you. I only need to work around my disability when I am not feeling bad and sometimes it can delay things but I will get it out.

Yes, I have same experience. CJ/LMR has extreme shipping cost to Europe. RockAuto works. Unfortunately none of these shops carry rear window regulators. At least I haven't found any in their shop.
