A Mustang I want. I'm stalking CraigsList searching, my phone let's me put multiple regions in so I have every region in my state chosen. Anyways, my problem is there are no SN95 Mustang GT's out there that I like. They're either V6 :BangHead: , automatic :BangHead: , Convertible :BangHead: , or have already been modded :BangHead: . I'm trying to find a bone-stock one. Do you all think I will ever find one and I'm just having trouble because I'm looking on Craigslist? I know there's a thread that talks about buying used cars on here (I think it is on here...I'm pretty sure..) but I just want to see how long you guys think I will have to look to find the car. I'm not sure if they have all been modded or what. Also, I'm posting this poll here to see what you all think is a better all around motor, I'm just taking whatever model gives me, but all I really know about them is that the 5.0 is a push rod and the 4.6 replaced it in 1996 and isn't a push rod.

Thanks, I'll check out the Corral.
I made a list already, here it is :3

Starting with 3.73 Gears
Magnaflow Cat-Back
O/R X-Pipe (BBK?)
Short-Throw Shifter
Long-Tube Headers
65 or 70 MM Throttle Body
Possibly Aluminum Drive Shaft
And probably a lowering kit somewhere in there
:D
It's also a daily driver so I don't want to get too extreme, ya know.

Thanks mikey :D
And yeah I know what ya mean about craigslist..not to mention I searched like 120 posts, I found one freaking stang that was stock and a 5 speed. It was probably a V6, I didn't know because he didn't say if it was a GT or the engine size. I need to start looking around town I guess...probably need a job first ha. I do want a 5.0, but I'm not sure if I'm searching in the right price range. I had it set to 3000 max, I bumped it up to 5000 and noticed better results. What do you think?

I think 3g is a little cheap for a nice 94/95 GT. I remember seeing a lot of crap when I was looking for mine and that was back in 2002, i can imagine there's some pretty good garbage out there now.

I would tend to stray away from craigslist, check out svtp though, they have a lot of deals over there on some good cars, thats where I got mine. And def get a 5.0 over a 4.6, good luck :eek:ccasion14:

Thanks for the advice :D
Why is the 5.0 so much better? Just because it's a bigger engine?

it has more low end torque. ive owned both, but with gears the 4.6 feels stronger. the 5.0s are also cheaper to mod and dont take up nearly as much space in the engine bay. to be honest both are good engines, i would just buy whatever comes along that is nice whether it be 4.6 or 5.0

Yeah that's sounding like my best bet. I was checking out Corral, man I'm just realizing I can get a pretty good cobra for a decent price...generally how much are stangs on insurance? And how much more for Cobras. I'll be on again in the morning. Thanks for the help so far.

you should just buy my cobra.

there's a website called search tempest that lets you search ebay and craigslist ads for everywhere (or a region you choose) on one page.

the 4.6 vs 5.0 is a big decision. the 5.0 is extremely easy to learn how to mod and the used performance parts are dirt cheap. you can go faster cheaper. 4.6 almost requires a PI upgrade at the least to be any type of contender. the 5.0 in these isn't a forged piston motor, the ecu is picky about cams and a few other minor things but honestly from a fresh start I'd either do 5.0 or cobra 4v and skip the 2v altogether as a performance platform.
I've owned all 3 varieties and the 300 hp of the 4v is worth the extra money. it can run 13's out of the box w/ practice where it took a p600b procharger to get my 98 gt into the 13's, 13.90s. lol.

Yea, 5.0s are dirt cheap to mod and I feel like you get the most bang for your buck with em, plus I love the sound and power you can pump out of a pushrod. The 4 valves are def a nice motor too and you can squeeze a lot of power out of them since they have a strong bottom end. I'd say that would be the toss up, between a 5.0 and a 4.6 4v cobra, either way your gonna love what you get. And insurance is pretty cheap man, im payin $39 a month on mine.

less than 300 miles on the mods/wheels/tires magnaflow magnapack cat back, B&M short throw and 10th anniversary cobra wheels 17x9/17x10.5 w/ new nittos all the way around otherwise stock down to the air box w/ paper motorcraft filter. Looking to get $6500 for it. exterior its a 7 of 10(13 year old paint that cleans up great but has small chips on the front bumper and a good sized ding on the 1/4 panel), inside 9 of 10 and mechanically 9 of 10.

as for insurance on the cobra, not really sure what it would be on its own but I've got 3 cars(new truck, old explorer and the cobra) on mine and pay less than 1700/yr w/ full coverage on everything.

Dang people talk about insurance on Mustangs sucking, it seems alright to me. Grant it, I am a teenage driver..anyways, the only thing about the cobra is the fact it's in Houston, I'm in Kentucky. Lol
