Problems with a 95 dodge van. need opinions

my dad has a 95 dodge van that has a ridiculous amount of miles on it,and it recently died on us. the fuel gauge crapped out on us a while ago and my dad never really maintained it. we replaced the fuel pump, sender, filter, injectors, throttle position sensor, map sensor, iac valve, air filter, spark plugs, wires, distributor, and the ignition coil. still wont start. it'll crank for a lil bit but wont catch. my dad says he smells fuel when he tries to start the car, so we assume the fuel system is working. and we replaced everything on the electrical side of the engine, so we assume the spark plugs are sparking (but we have not confirmed this). is it possible that the ECM is messed up? how would i go about checking it? any other suggestions on what could be the possible problem?

have you tried to start it by using ether. or dribbling gas straight into the carb/ TB? If it fires then you know it's fuel related.
Double ck the firing order. it's real easy to mix up the spark plug wires.
Double ck timing. set #1 at tdc and verify timing mark.
Has the timing chain ever been replaced?
How many miles is a ridiculous amount?
I have a toyota 4 cylinder with over 300,000 mi. on the orig motor.

Step #1 grab a match

Step #2 grab a gas can

Step #3 dump gas all over motor

Step #4 light said gas with match

Step #5 wait about ten minutes and call the fire department

Step #6 Call insurance

Step #7 Call it a day.

Honestly, you guys didn't check the computer? It should throw a code if you read it. How do you read it? I'm not totally sure, but I believe if you turn the key to the on position and off like 12 times it will flash the codes on the "Check Engine" light.
