Couldn't have come at a more shittier time then now...

So my car drove just fine to school the other day, ran smooth, ran just fine and drove good. Parked it at school, went and did my classes and came back a few hours later to head home....Started the car and it started to stumble, the rpms wouldn't stay at a normal range, they dropped down to about 400-500 rpms and the car was just stumbling and then stalled. I restarted the car and did the same thing, so I tried to get it limping back home, the car drove sort of normal until I shifted and a pop would come from the exhaust, I would clutch in to apply the break as I was coming up to a light or to slow down and the rpms would drop all the way down and the car would stall all over again. I'm unable to get this car to stay running, it's really starting to baffle me, someone suggested that it could be the Idle Air Control.... it's a 94 gt, could anyone have some possible suggestions?

any mods?
Have you tried to read codes? You can have one without the CEL being on.
Has the distributor been replaced yet?

i second the ditzy question. the PIP sensors in there are a common failure point. they screw the timing all up. i would also start with the simple stuff. check all your vaccuum lines, clean the MAF, reset the computer, etc.

mods:

gt40 upper and lower, bbk cold air, bbk 70mm throttle body, bbk shorty headers, full exhaust. I did see the cap and rotor were corroded, I had the idle air off about two months ago when i changed the throttle body, i guess i'll take it off again and clean it and see if that doesn't help or even replace it.

What about the dizzy itself?
Ck the gasket on the IAC and make sure it's not leaking causing the engine to suck unmetered air into the engine.

it was indeed the Idle Air Control Valve, I took it off, cleaned it down real good, reinstalled and the car ran like a dream once again, yay for easy fix.....this time.
