Your probably not gonna get to mid 12s with just a vortech if your npi.

NPI sucks real bad.

With a pi intake and a good amount of boost you should be able to...but thats assuming you can drive and have traction....even then, its probably gonna take 10 psi and some very good driving IMO.

Anyway, your best bet is trying to find a used kit for sale on corral...any of them will do really, paxton, procharger, vortech...theyre all doin the same thing and all have their strengths and weaknesses.

You can find vortech setups for less than 2k nowaday used

While, I agree with you that NPI does suck...

It's not always about the HP amount when it's on the strip.

I agree npi sucks but with a vortech charger and even 300 hp, with the right suspension a 12 second pass is more than possible. I know a local guy with a PI swap and 272 dyno proven HP runnin low 12's. HP doesnt mean much, i also know a few s197's doin 12's NA just over the stock HP with teh right suspension alot is possible.

^^ Im well aware of the fact that HP doesnt mean much at the track, unfortunately, in this guys situation, it seems like he was gonna slap a blower on and expect mid 12s on street tires...I just assumed that since he listed no other mods and overall doesn't seem to know much yet

I was just trying to break him into the fact that it takes work to go fast.

I have a friend with a 04 gt, 410s, vortech @ 8 psi, with 360 rwhp, his best time was 13.3 @ 107 mph on drag radials.

This is the fastest his car went after 5 passes or so...power is never everything but going fast at the track takes a lot of work and practice, especially in a manual car.

I dont have much more power than him, in fact my car only dynoed 370 rwhp through the auto and I plan to go about 2 second faster, 11.3 or so.

All that differance is having the right setup, dropping a bunch of weight, and using the power correctly
