I want some opinions before I do this. My car is a 1997 GT with (engine mods):

-MMR 1100 Shortblock
-Stage III VT Blower Cams
-Ported P.I. heads
-UPR intake
-75mm TB and plenum
-Borla Longtubes
-Flowmaster H-pipe/mufflers
-Walbro 255 fuel pump.

My original plan was to buy a brand new 2.6H Kenne Bell kit, get a 20lb pulley, and upgrade my fuel system to handle about 650 to the wheels. All together I had figured it woulb be about $7,500 everything. Now that i've come to my senses, I realize that for right now I can't really afford to do that.

So, my plan now is to purchase a brand new ProCharger P1SC kit from a friend of mine who is a dealer and can get me one at dealer cost.

If I got with a P1SC Stage II kit (3 core intercooler and belt runs only off the crank, not the accessories) @ 15lbs of boost, what numbers can I realistically expect with the above mentioned mods? I'm hoping 500 to the wheels, and if that's the case, will my Walbro 255 handle that by itself? Do I need a Boost-A-Pump?

Thanks for any advice and input!

-Matt

since you won't have a before number to work with it's a lot of estimation, and your compression will effect it as well, but with ported heads, cams ect ect, and 15# of boost, you should be in the mid 500's

I'd also recommend you look at the D1 Procharger over the PI.
has a better boost curve, bigger impeller, and a lower charge temp.

Yea a D1SC would be nice lol.

The car dynoed (on a very safe/conservative tune) 277hp/299trq to the wheels N/A with a 9.5:1 CR

ok, so are you just adding boost to that, or are you doing more motor mods?

Nope motor is staying as is, just boost, and if need be, a better/bigger fuel pump. And 42# injectors of course.

ok, well we can get a good projection from your dyno then.

[(boost / 14.7) +1] x base HP

= 559.65

Awesome, thank you! I was hoping someone knew how to calculate it out lol.

I am excited about having boost! I'm sick of refilling my bottle

No, your fuel system with just a boost a pump won't handle over 500 hp. Come on think about it. How many 500+hp cars are running stock fuel rails, fuel lines, and in tank pumps? Even the cobra guys put a bap, GT pumps(2) and a larger fuel line to fuel rails when they crest that magic 500 mark. Boost changes everything. Since your car is return style, you can possibly get away with the procharger inline fuel pump setup but that depends on the tune's a/f ratio demands. Putting a bap on the sytem would require you to put the bap on both the procharger inline and your intank pumps I would guess. I don't know if it can stand that much amperage. twin bap's would be my guess. I would think the dual pumps would be good, but I am not sure. You are on the edge with those numbers as a little more hp and a seperate fuel system with large race style pump would be required. Also, I have never seen a P1SC make those numbers. That would be cool if you can get that out of it, that would be something very unique. And finally, the stage 2 has nothing to do with the mounting system, it has to do with the size intercooler. ProCharger only makes seperate systems for fox pullies. I can call ATI and ask them, but I have not received any information from them as to a change.
Also, is your buddy a dealer or a distributor? I am one of the distributors for ATI, so I can save money over dealer cost any day of the week. PM me if interested.

i heard the upgrade from a P1 to a D1 is well worth it

Me too, just more monies :( lol

its much cheaper to get the D1 kit then to upgrade the P1 kit down the road

True, and then I won't have any down time. Just more time spent saving before purchasing, which is definitely worth it.

What boost are you running to make 700hp? And what fuel system are you using? (what parts did you have to upgrade, and what did you upgrade to). Thanks!

MPH blower cams,
ported PI heads,
d1sc on a 8 rib pulley setup 2.9 RR 8 rib pulley
AFM boost pipe
60# inj
was running a 255lph pump with AFM inline pump upgraded lines KB BAP and rail set
now i'm running a sump tank and aeromotive setup (basically lol)
meth injection and procharger race bypass

with the procharger d1sc and higher boost applications i highly recommend switching over to an 8 rib setup i'm sure i'm missing something but thats the basics

Ugh, I wish I had the money to get all that right now!

If I go with a D1SC (or P1SC) @ 15 lbs of boost on the stock 6 rib pulley system do you think i'll have belt slip issues?
