Ok guys, I am trying to decide which way I should go with my '98GT. I already have '04 PI heads and new PI intake on the stock '98 rebuilt shortblock.
I have been checking out all the posts here about the VT/CMS cams and they sound like a good mod. My problem is, I have always wanted to supercharge it. I had heard back in the day when these 4.6 cars came out that you could run an Intercooled Procharger with up to 9 #'s of boost without touching the bottom end or doing allot of other mods. Have any of you heard of this to be truth? Reason I am asking is because I don't want to spend 800-900 on cams and springs and only get 20-30 HP gain. I would rather pick up a used SC kit for a little more and gain a whole lot more HP.
Case in point, a P1SC with a 3core intercooler, 39# injectors, Bosch blow off vale, bracket for an '01 GT and a Lightning MAF.
Would this set up work on my '98 without any other mods other than a tune and possibly an upgraded fuel pump?
Any advice would be appreciated.
