project engine

i picked up a 95+ crown vic engine today. $220 out the door, but its in "great running" condition and has about 100k miles. being in a automatic family car, I'd like to think it was never abused. my plans are roughly, put my pi heads on it along with some other parts. possibly including a good set of cams, but money will determine that. I work at a auto parts store, so I get all my parts/gaskets discounted. so maybe a budget rebuild. any pointers to a first time "engine builder". thanks
