I'll start by showing some pics of the 94 GT that's been a garage ornament for the last two years. Finally on wheels so I could wash the dust off of it and get ready to put it back in the garage for winter. ignore the trash around the house, between making room in the garage and siding the house I feel like I'm driving to the dump constantly. Sorry about the poor ipad pics, What do you think? this is why I'm making room in the garage........... thats all I have right now for pics of the cobra. I picked it up last weekend it's from California and completely rust free but it was a little neglected, the trans is pretty worn out but everything else mechanically is solid. The body will need some paint help but nothing major. The odometer reads 197k but the rear gears were changed to 3.55's in 98 and the speedo was never corrected so it officially killed the resale on this thing but I've always had a soft spot for this gen cobra. I'm not a chrome fan at all, what would you guys think of the white car's wheels on the cobra?
I like those wheels on the white one man, what size are they? I was thinking about getting them once before but changed my mind, but seeing them on your car may persuade me.
I love the wheels on the 94! They compliment the headlights pretty well, I think I would stick with them and try to find a set of horizontal taillights for it As for the cobra I agree not a fan of the chrome but I don't think I'd put the wheels from the GT on it. Why not sell the FR500's and try to find some you really like for the cobra?
I do have some black horizontals that I bought from a fellow member on here that I may try out and see if I like them. As far as the wheels on the cobra go, I'm trying to sell them to a guy at work who's dad picked up a clean 98 GT but the Passenger front has bounced of a curb a few times and is pretty chewed up so he'll need to buy one more to have a good set and I'm not real sure on a price with tires. The wheels on the white car are 18x9 s197 offset and 18x10 sn95 offset, I added a 1/2" spacer since the rear was narrowed 3/4" on each side and on the front I wanted to tuck the wheels in the wells more with the MM k-member and arms but they barely cleared the bilstein coil over springs so I put in a 1/8" to give me piece of mind. Anyone got pics of good looking non-chrome wheels on black Cobras? I need some ideas.
I love the deep dish Cobra R's. Had them on my old 99. As for ideas for pics of wheels for the black Cobra see my signature pic! Also with those 1/2" spacers did you have to run extended lug studs?
The rear end has 31 spline strange axles with 3" studs, so I have lots of thread left yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gotcha, I measured mine and need to go with a 1/2" spacer to make em flush. Guess I will just have to get some studs too.
I LOVE THE WHEELS ON THE GT. Wow. I was going to buy some wide wheels for mine.... that is exactly what I will get. Stock look with a little extra. :love62::love62::love62:
That's what I liked about them. They flow with the lines of these cars really well, even if they're real common. It's one of the my favorite wheels still. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well, sold the chrome fr500's and needed a set to drive the cobra home. The combination is growing on me a little.......... I'm actually thinking a wheel with a black center and polished lip, don't really know if I'd go cobra R again but I don't think the wheels on it now would look to bad with black spokes.
