Looks like a fun project! I dont know if you put that cobra front on or took it off but it should probably remain on the car!

Re: Project "Super5.0Snake"

honestly i think i would stay carbed if you plan to stay n/a or even a nice blow thru carb turbo setup would be tits.. but seriously save the headache and time and stay carbed.. in mm&ff they have a tech write up on how they got 400hp at the crank in a junk yard motor with the carb setup, very thorough and its almost nearly done for you..just clean up the bay, all of the components, re install with some nice aluminum heads, tubular k member and a nice intake and carb and enjoy..plus it will be a little more unique than a plain efi car.. i will probably wind up going blow thru carb with my 408w 88mm turbo setup..

Man that is a hell of a mess, not ragging on your project but, I agree, just keepit carbed because it seems all the wiring is damaged.

I like the VGT turbo setup you have. I plan on swapping mine out after a while and go with a garret vnt and set the vanes to spool around 1500 rpm also.

Re: Project "Super5.0Snake"

Wow, if you're 17 and can pull a Kenne bell'd 5.0L out of THAT, you have my respect. I re-built my engine earlier this year and I was 17/18 while doing it, but my car has always been in good shape. Whatever the previous owner did, they REALLY effed that car up, good luck, that looks like an electronic nightmare though.

Re: Project "Super5.0Snake"

It's not simple "bolt on", ask Onyx, is just finished doing one on his car. Plus you need to have the fuel system for it and with the fuel system you need bigger injectors which means re-calibrating the MAF and you still have stock internals which means using anymore than 6-8lbs of boost is engine suicide. If power was as simple as bolting things on like that, LOTS of people would be running around with superchargers, but it takes a lot of "little things" to make it complete.

Can't beat a V8 5spd for $500. Especially when I was your age, I'd be in hog heaven.

The cobra front bumper is Layin in my shed.Ya i know what else but the thing is is that you can the kb up to 10-11psi on stock internals.Well thats what the guy from KB said.Ya its gonna take time to get it back into good shape but it will be done.

<~~ill be on 12 psi with stock internals and 475+rwhp with ease but as long as you have the supporting mods your ok..i have seen some last with near 600 rwhp on stock internals my buddys has 618rwhp stock bottom end in a 91 fox and its been going for 2 years at 16lbs.. its all in the tune.. the amount of boost dont matter its how much cfm your flowing.. through your forced induction setup oh and thanks for the comment 5.slow..yeah the vnt/vgt turbos are really starting to be the way to go.. and they are loud as hell.. when it spools you nearly have to cover your ears lol..

Re: Project "Super5.0Snake"

I know your really excited about this car but that looks like a long and pricey resto. Being that you only have $500 in it have you considered parting it out? You could easily get 1500-2000 and flip that money into another one with less work. I'm all for your original plans but would hate to see you sink money into something then lose interest. I haven't drove my car in 2yrs now because of my resto and im only a 3rd of the way through it. On the other hand im older and in no hurry to get it out on the road again where as if i was younger id be half assing stuff just to get it driveable.
