Well just got my 4.10 rear all put back together, just needs some fluid and swap it out with my other rear. What kind of break in period should I perform? Does it require a fluid change after a certain amount of miles? It would suck to have to buy the royal purple fluid again at 18 bux a quart.

i do a heat cycle before any hard launches, but WOT is fine.

just drive normal without doing any burnouts or launches, then let it sit overnight, and the next day drive any way you want to.

the heat cycle isnt really needed, but its a good idea.

no need to change the fluid.

ok cool. By a heat cycle just make sure I do some good stop and go driving and some highway? Just enough to get it spinning and the fluid nice and hot?

any driving is fine as long as the gears get up to temperature, then are allowed to cool completely.

I know what fear manufacturers recommend but most our our customers leave the driveway on the limiter it seems. Never had any issues, and we do 8-10 gears installs a month.

I usually don't do break ins for things that don't wear.

Since when do ring and pinion no wear?..... Have you ever seen gears that have 60 or 70k on them??? They have wear and if you run a magnet though the oil, you will find metallic shavings.

I've seen teeth missing off these things lol. I swapped mine 3k miles ago. No break-in, just didn't launch right away. Still no noise, no problems.
