I'm getting my car ready for the road. I had it hauled here by trailer. The timing cover water jacket had a hole in it. I bought it last year, but due to the economy, I couldn't put a lot of money into it at one time. I have done a lot of work on it over the past year, replacing much of the cooling system, steering system, headers, h-pipe, exhaust, touch up paint, etc.

Should I leave it plain looking, or put some sort of graphics on it? Everyone around here has racing stripes. I don't want to make it look like a rice burner. I am not crazy about yellow, but I am getting more used to it.

Also, it has the Weld Racing skinny front wheel and tire on it. It will be more of a Sunday Driver. I don't know how safe it is for just cruising around?

I was also wandering about braking and curves. I'm sure that this tire is for driving in a straight line. What do you think?

That sounds pretty f'ing awesome!!! I'm looking into maybe painting mine back to how it came. I didn't get what I wanted done, though. Not the biggest fan of racing stripes. Man, wished mine sounded like yours!!

Thanks!

The engine and transmission is new. The engine has approx 2000 miles on it and the car has 60,000. The guy that I bought it from was planning on fixing everything up but ran into some money problems. I think that they put well water in it and let it sit in a barn for a couple of years. The inspection sticker says 2006. I have the bill of sale for the engine and transmission. It is also 2006. The previous owner started it up a drove it once in a while, but the entire cooling system was clogged up beyond repair. Water wouldn't even drain out of the radiator when I got it. The thermostat was frozen shut. I replaced everything but the heater core. The tires were also brand new when I got the car. I cleaned the entire engine area with a tooth brush. I have done a lot of work on the car, so far, on about everything. It has been a lot of fun working on it. I learned most of the things from the manual, online posts, and asking questions on forums. I used to be an airplane mechanic and worked for US Air, so that also helped a lot. My Dad was an auto mechanic for 45 years.

The thing that matters on the tires is what size and what type of tire?

Agreed, between the big/littles and cowl hood, looks sweet just as is. Now if you do get something, please keep it simple/tasteful like a mild c-stripe like this one or a rocker panel stripe or maybe change out your wing to cobra style or S281?

Thanks!

I will just leave it as it is right now, as far a looks. I just put the rack, pump, and hoses in today. I was not a hard job at all. Getting the two rack bolts loose was the hardest part. I purged the system and nothing leaks. It looks like it is good to go. If all goes well, I will have it on the road next month.
