Question about removing the valve covers

When removing the valve covers, on the passenger side there are 2 fuel lines that go over the cover. Do the fuel lines need to be removed in order to remove the valve cover?

i've always been able to sqeeze it by without disconnecting, but my a/c lines are gone from there too.

I forget to mention that I have the ford racing tall valve covers that I'm removing.

I have been able also but mine are stock height. Actually I have more trouble with the alt. and the water lines.

Yeah I just pushed the fuel lines out of the way, but i had to remove the alt to get it off.

What I do is remove the lower pivot bolt disconnect the electrical stuff then rotate the alt up and use the smaller bolt to hold it up.
